11/15/2022 0 Comments Dts decoder divx![]() I think if you want the full 6 channels without down-mixing, than you will basically need a 5.1 speaker setup on your PC, rather than 2 speakers. So far, what you have described - at least to my limited audio knowledge - sounds to be working correctly. So, it drops some - and that is where mixing comes in. However, as your PC is set to 2 channel audio, than the system has to make a choice about what to do with those extra channels that it can't handle (6 channels of 5.1 into 2 channels just does not go). I would guess that is why selecting DTS enables your AMP to receive the 5.1 signal - the signal is 5.1, and as it isn't modified, 5.1 is what is passed along to the AMP. Well, it should be, if everything is working correctly. So, a 5.1 stream bit-streamed will be passed along as 5.1, as that is what bit-streaming is designed to do. Initially packed by Inmatrix ( Zoom Player 's developer), this filter is quite constantly updated and its last versions were added the ability to open TrueHD raw files (the duration may not be detected correctly). One of the things about bit-streaming is that the audio signal is passed down the audio chain unmodified. DTS/AC3 Source Filter is a compact and useful application which reads and passes DTS and AC3 frames to decoders from files. From what I understand, DTS is a form of bit-streaming. I opened a file in graphedit and discovered the open source mpeg2 audio decoder was connecting ahead of ac3filter. Also, the AC3 was being passed through to my Denon amp in PCM 2 channel. ![]() ![]() The following is all from my (limited) understanding of audio, and may not be 100% correct necessarily. DTS playback with DivX files - posted in Zoom Player - Support & Development: I have been having difficulties getting any movie media file to play DTS encoded sound. We really need one of the audio guys to chip in here - there are some here on the forums - audio is a weak point of mine The reason why it is important to know what decoder is being used is that all the audio decoders (LAV, ffdshow, AC3Filter, DC-BASS etc) have different options, all named differently, all located under differently named tabs in their configuration dialog - so to give a proper answer, we need to know what decoder is being used. There are some decoders that don't have that in the name however (such as AC3Filter, DC-BASS), so if you still aren't sure, just post a screenshot of your Filter Properties menu. ![]() LAV Audio Decoder, ffdshow Audio Decoder). With a bit of luck, the audio decoder may have 'Audio Decoder' somewhere in the name (e.g. If you are not sure what decoder is being used - though it is likely to be LAV if you haven't changed the Smart Play defaults - right click Zoom while a file is playing, and select the Filter Properties menu. There was another down-mixing thread here only recently tooĭown-mixing is done by the audio decoder, not Zoom. ![]()
